What Colour Are You? By Marion

What Colour Are You?
by Marion

Sunrise, sunset, sun and moon,
August, July, May and June.
Lust, desire, coals and fire.
Graveyard dirt and funeral pyres.
Roses exploding, tulips tall,
Verbena trailing down black brick walls.
Candles burning, emitting soft light,
Toenail polish and lipstick bright.

It pulses with desire,
Burns with fire,
Drips with lust
In shades of rust.

Red is the brazen harlot of colours.
All other colours envy her---

This is wonderful, Marion! I wish I were creative enough to write my own poem about what color I am. It's funny, too.... the color I probably give to myself is not my favorite color (or even my second favorite)!

I love how you tied this into the picture of your rose!

This is fabulous, Marion! Dahling, you NEED to be published. Your wonderful creativity is just begging to be shared with the reading public. Happy Monday and have a wonderful week.

Passionate and lyrical, Marion! Your red reminds me of another: SCARLETT O'Hara--LOVED her! btw, she said only the South produced poets...
I'm yellow--in balance warm and pleasant; in overabundance ADHD.
The vibrational fragrance of that red, red rose is heaven! Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ

Yesterday I was blue. Before that red. Today teal...the shade of teal that bears a hand-sewn tag - "the natural content of this fiber will have slight irregularities." Tomorrow I shall be the box that houses all the colors. Who can be just one?

I felt like jumping rope while reading this poem of yours Marion. I was chanting.

Bravo my Marion! Love you.

marion, i had no idea until the end that they were all red. thick, eh? it is a rainbow to itself. love reading your poetry.

me? my kids had a book when they were little, My many coloured days. god, i still love that book. i can't pick a colour. from this book i'm just about all of them, although i was never one for the pink. dumb flamingo's - just don't think. but if i had to pick one i'd pick green, Green Days. Deep deep in the sea. Cool and quite fish. That's me. this book is a must, marion. do you have it?
