I love every song on the "Are You Experienced" album, but this one is a favorite. Hendrix had no equal as a a poet and guitarist. If you've never heard this song, you can check it out at YouTube.

Hendrix was a rare genius indeed. I, too, love that album (cd? mp3? lol) but i would have to say "Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire" is my favorite. Thanks for posting this lyric. I've heard and loved the song for years, but have never seen the lyrics like this, and it was fun to read.

It so happens that The Wind Cries Mary is far and away my fave Hendrix track too! Love the lyrics and the laid back vibe in the music on this one. Generally I am not a massive Hendrix fan ... sacrilegious I know! xx Jos

Hanging head, knowing little. What popular culture offers, of course, and what I remember through many murky late University nights, but not enough to have an opinion. But you're right, the poetry is rich in his lines.
