Flowers are the Poetry of Earth...

"The temple bell stops but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers." ~Basho

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.

"A profusion of pink roses bending ragged in the rain speaks to me of all gentleness and its enduring." ~The Collected Later Poems of William Carlos Williams

Pluck not the wayside flower;
It is the traveler's dower.

"If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." ~Terri Guillemets

YAY for spring poems! Love them! (Especially from my favorite guy, Rilke.)

Thank you, Phoenix. I forgot to mention that I took all of these photos in my yard or in the woods across the street yesterday. So many flowers blooming, no humidity and NO MOSQUITOES! Yes, there's nothing like Spring & Rilke! xoxo, Blessings!!

Your yard rocks. It ain't New Orleans, but a balm just the same. So beautiful, as are you!

Awww, thank you, my Annie-girl. You, too, are more beautiful that mere words can express. Love to you & Blessings!! xoxo

Every year I am ASTONISHED by spring growth. Yesterday I trimmed back my lilac branches. Today the buds are swollen and heavy. It is crazy to me, this mad progression of life.

The one from Wilcox is one I've always loved, since I am one who loves most weeds. I say most because there are some which do try me, lol!

These are beautiful, Marion...you're so far ahead of me in the garden I wonder if I will ever catch up! But the tulips have shown their tips and things are beginning to wake up, even up north!

Erin, me too. It's like childbirth...you forget the pain once they put that beautiful baby in your arms. And the long, bleak winters make you forget that spring always comes and astounds and astonishes. Thank GOD for flowers. Love to you & Blessings!

Marion, thank you. I think my flowers really are poetry. Pure poetry without words! I'm sure you'll catch up there in the frozen north soon. I can't wait to see some pics of your Tulips. Blessings!!

Quid, thank you. This year the flowers are exceptionally beautiful. We've had 2 whole weeks of sunshine with low humidity and no mosquitoes. I think I'm in heaven! Blessings!

Thanks, Kelly. Trust me, I've killed as many flowers as I've grown. Never, ever, ever give up. Blessings!

What a library you must have in your head, friend! Thank you for these.

Dear Jmarls80, we will not *even* go into what's inside my head. LOL! I love the idea of there being a library in my head with all the bats, ghosts and lost poems. You're very welcome. Blessings!
